Drew University, Madison, NJ

Bohler Engineering has worked with Drew University on their Madison, NJ campus for over five years. First and foremost, Bohler has provided master land planning services for Drew University to aide the Board of Directors in identifying the development potential for their campus, as well as provide guidance in site selection for program additions to the University.

In addition to master planning services, Bohler has been involved with preparing civil site development documents for various projects on site. These projects include a new academic facility, a new academic arts building and music wing, additions to an on-site library facility, and two new residence halls. For these projects, Bohler has provided civil engineering design, landscape design, project management and coordination of the entitlement process.

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham Park, NJ

Bohler Engineering was retained in June of 2008 to prepare the Civil Engineering Plans and permitting documents for the development of a 3-story library expansion at the 131 acre Fairleigh Dickinson Campus in Florham Park, NJ. The project included coordination of the architect, mechanical engineer, project attorney and the FDU administration to incorporate the requested design elements into the Civil Engineering plans for approval. Our office also provided due diligence to identify existing onsite utilities to determine how they will be rerouted to accommodate the building expansion. The project was presented to the Zoning Board by Bohler Engineering and approved in November of 2008.

Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT

Bohler provided site planning and design services for a 24,000 SF administrative building located at the University of Fairfield. The building, known as The Kelley Center, is a green-build, hi-tech administration building and welcome center, which was constructed as a model for high performance green buildings. The Kelley Center utilized recycled materials throughout the building and was designed to save the University 15-20% in energy resources.

Bohler Engineering was retained to provide site planning and design services for a 24,000 square foot building located at Fairfield University. This building, known as The Kelley Center, is a green, hi-tech administration and welcome center which was constructed as a model for high performance green buildings. The facility houses a 90-seat auditorium, conference rooms, and administrative offices. Bohler was responsible for layout, grading and drainage design, utilities design, and erosion control associated with construction of the Kelley Center and associated infrastructure. Extensive stormwater management analysis and design, including design of underground detention facilities, was performed due to stringent local regulations. The project featured constraints including moderate topography and an existing athletic track. In addition, an existing waterline was relocated.

Tutor Time Childcare Center, Massapequa, NY

Bohler Engineering provided civil engineering design services for the development of a Tutor Time Childcare/Learning Center in Massapequa, NY. Situated on .984 acres, the project involved the development of a new 11,600 SF center and the redevelopment of an existing 2-story, 4,500 SF building, which consists of retail and office space. Bohler Engineering designed the site plan package including parking access, lighting, landscaping, utilities and stormwater management facilities, and procured the necessary approvals.

St. Jude’s Church & School Expansion, New Britain Township, Bucks County, PA

St. Jude’s Church, on Route 202 in New Britain Township, constructed a 3-story, 21,925 square foot/floor expansion to the existing school which included new class rooms and gymnasium, along with the permitting of 3,698 square foot addition to the existing church vestibule and chapel. The total project area was 29 acres and the development included the construction of sidewalks and landscaping and the extension of water and sanitary sewer. An underground stormwater detention basin was installed in the vicinity of the proposed bus loop to manage the increase in stormwater runoff and volume generated from the increase in impervious coverage in post-development. The project also included modification of the existing bus loop for loading/unloading students and construction of road improvements to Route 202 including storm sewer extension, widening and restriping which required PADOT HOP plans for approval. The project was completed in the Fall of 2006.

University Village of Temple, 10th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Philadelphia, PA

Titan Investments developed a 2.1 acre site into two buildings for offsite Temple University Student Housing. The project consists of two buildings, totaling 244,100 square feet, which occupy the city block bordered by Montgomery Avenue, Cecil B. Moore, and 10th Streets on the campus of Temple University. The four-story Building 1 is 63,400 square feet and provides 49 units with 174 beds. Building 2 is 180,700 square feet and consists of a six-story section connected to a three-story section, providing 170 units with 578 beds.

Residences at Avenue North: Phase 2, Broad Street & Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Philadelphia, PA

1600 Broad Associates, L.P. is developing a 14-Story building consisting of 1,100 beds and associated amenities for the purposes of Temple University Student Housing. The project requires re-zoning, full sanitary sewer planning, reconstruction of an existing parking lot and retaining wall, and compliance with the city’s stormwater management requirements. The project is in the planning stages and expects to break ground in 2011.

The National Labor College, Silver Spring, MD

Bohler Engineering provided site civil engineering design, surveying, landscape architecture, and permit expediting services for the renovation and expansion of the 47-acre campus in Silver Spring, MD. Bohler provided design for the 50,000 square foot residence hall and 72,000 square foot state-of-the-art academic and conference center. The design for the renovation and expansion to the existing campus allowed for continued service to its students and the community.
