Turnersville Auto Mall, Washington Township, NJ
Penske Automotive Group hired Bohler Engineering to design and procure entitlements for this multi-stage renovation and expansion project on nearly 70 acres in Washington Township, NJ. This site offers approximately 300,000 SF of facilities for nine independent dealerships with capacity to display approximately 3,000 new and pre-owned vehicles. Other features include a 3/8 mile vehicle demonstration track designed for a Hummer off-road test facility, a collision repair center, 180 bay service center and many other amenities to foster outstanding customer service.
Bohler Engineering secured all local, County and State permits for this project, which include an NJDOT Major Access Permit, NJDEP Treatment Works Approval, Safe Drinking Water Permit, and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to satisfy the environmental requirements of locating an auto dealership within a classified wellhead protection zone. Bohler's development strategy allowed for phased construction and state Highway Access permits to be issued, allowing the facility to be opened ahead of schedule.
Ryan Automotive, Roxbury and Morris Township, NJ
Bohler Engineering was contracted by Ryan Automotive Group to provide Civil Engineering and Consulting Services for their two new BMW Service Centers and Showrooms located in Roxbury and Morris Township, New Jersey. BMW has specific requirements for their facilities to ensure that the appropriate atmosphere and customer experience is realized. Bohler Engineering was able to provide for the client’s needs as well as ultimately BMW’s requirements for these facilities.
Bohler Engineering performed all services relating to the site work including initial due diligence, conceptual layout, coordination with the client as well as the municipalities and jurisdictional agencies to facilitate a smooth approval process. In addition, our office provided services to prepare and obtain outside agency approvals including New Jersey Department of Transportation, local and county planning boards, Soil Conservation Districts and water and sewer utility authorities. Additionally, we also worked closely with the environmental consultant to secure necessary redevelopment permits from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Bohler Engineering also provided services throughout construction to review shop drawings, answer requests for information, conduct periodic site reviews to clarify construction issues and provide a hands-on approach to ensure that construction of the design documents proceeds in the most efficient and economical means possible.
Autonation/Mercedes Benz of Miami, Miami Gardens, FL
Bohler Engineering was retained for land planning and civil engineering design for this 19-acre Mercedes Benz dealership in Miami Gardens, FL. This project included complicated stormwater management issues, access to the FDOT Palmetto Expressway, and entitlement approvals through the local agencies.
Autonation/Mercedes Benz of Sarasota, FL
Bohler Engineering was retained for land planning and civil engineering for the design of this 10-acre dealership in Sarasota, FL. This project included the entitlement process, design of stormwater management, and traffic concurrency. The project is located within the Palmer Ranch DRI and the Palmer Park of Commerce. Both entities had strict design requirements for the site including buffering, existing landscaping, lighting and architectural requirements. The site is located within a master stormwater management basin with strict requirements regarding water quality, floodplain encroachments and pervious/impervious requirements.
Audi-Porsche, Fairfield, CT
Bohler provided engineering design, permitting and construction services for an Audi-Porsche Dealership raze and rebuild project, owned and maintained by the Penske Automotive Group. The project includes a remodel of the existing Porsche facility and razing the existing Audi facility for the construction of a new 14,300 SF state-of-the-art Audi Sales facility.
Smart Center Fairfield, Fairfield, CT
Bohler was responsible for the design and permitting for the newly constructed and fully operational Smart Auto Dealership in Fairfield, CT. This project is pursuing a Silver LEED certification with the U.S. Green Building Council. The certification effort required extensive coordination with both the client and architect during the design phase, as well as furnishing of design elements required to procure a complete LEED submittal for review and certification.
Honda of Danbury, Danbury, CT
Bohler was responsible for the design, permitting and construction services associated with the redevelopment of the existing Honda of Danbury Auto Dealership. The project included the demolition of a former Saturn dealership to allow for the construction of a 17,500 SF, 22-bay service facility and the remodel and expansion of the existing Honda dealership to provide an 18,000 +/- SF building, which includes auto sales, a service drive and a car wash. The project also requires an on-site public water main extension to be adopted and accepted by the City, and an approximate 1,800 LF extension of the City sewer main within Federal Road (a State maintained right-of-way) requiring both local and CTDOT permits.
